About the New Account Process
By law we have to be sure you are who you say you are. That means we have to record and check certain pieces of information. Make opening an account even quicker when you bring the following information for all account owners:
- Name
- Address
- Social Security number (you must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident alien)
- Date of Birth
- Telephone (Home, Work, Cell)
- Email Address
- Mother’s Maiden Name
- One form of unexpired identification (driver’s license, passport or government-issued ID), including the ID number and expiration date.
Any information that we request will be safeguarded and used for the purpose intended. For more information, see Patriot Act.
Important Information About Opening an Account
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal Law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
You authorize Bluestone Bank to obtain a consumer report on you for the purpose of verification of your identity and information that you have provided to us. Upon request, you agree to provide personal identification, such as a driver’s license, when conducting certain transactions. For deposit accounts, Bluestone Bank may obtain any credit reference necessary including but not limited to ChexSystems.
